One of top 2017 players commits to Cats

Kentucky quietly picked up two more commitments in the past few weeks, including one of the top post players in the 2017 class on Saturday.

Madison Treece, a 6-foot-4 center from Saint Peters, Mo., committed to the Cats over the weekend. ESPN ranks her as the 30th best player in the 2017 class and the fifth best post player. She picked UK over Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Dayton and Iowa among others.

Treece joins 5-foot-6 point guard Kameron Roach as the Cats’ second commitment for the 2017 class.

  • Chanin Scott, a 6-foot forward from Charlotte, also recently committed to Kentucky. An AAU teammate of Roach, Scott is ranked as the 34th best swing player in the 2016 class by ESPN. Scott, who also is a volleyball player, helped lead her Myers Park High School team to two straight 4A state championships. Scott joins Lindsey Corsaro, a 6-foot guard from Indianapolis ranked No. 35 nationally by ESPN, as the Cats’ two 2016 commitments.
