Kentucky throwing selection show party

To celebrate its fifth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the opportunity to host the first two rounds next week, Kentucky is throwing a selection show party for itself (and hundreds of its closest fans) on Monday at Memorial Coliseum.

ESPN’s Selection Monday show will be shown live on the big screen with doors opening to the general public at 6 p.m. The show begins at 7 p.m. General parking will be available beginning at 4 p.m. in any “E” lot adjacent to Memorial Coliseum.

Concession stands will be open on the west side of the coliseum and brackets will be available. The UK ticket office will be open during and after the selection show for fans to purchase NCAA Tournament tickets.

UK has advanced to the Elite Eight in three of its last four tournament appearances, including two in a row. The Cats have earned a No. 2 seed the past two seasons, but likely will be a No. 3 seed according to ESPN’s latest Bracketology.

Charlie Crème has the Cats in the Stanford regional with No. 1 seed Stanford and No. 2 seed Duke, a team UK lost to at Rupp Arena in December.
