One of nation’s top post players on campus

One of the top players in the nation at a position Kentucky needs in a big way will be on campus this weekend.

Alyssa Rice, a 6-foot-3 post player from Reynoldsburg (Ohio) High School, will take her official visit this weekend. ESPN has Rice rated the No. 20 player in the nation and the third-best post player overall.

Rice lists UK, Maryland, Ohio State, Virginia and West Virginia among her top choices, but various reports have her down to the Cats and Cavaliers.

The All-Star Girls’ Report has Rice listed as No. 44 overall and the fifth best post player in the country.

UK commitment Jaycee Coe, a 6-foot forward from Jackson County High School in Tennessee, also is expected to be on campus this weekend.

Kentucky graduates five seniors after this season, including two McDonald’s All-American post players in Samarie Walker (8.7 ppg, 8.1 rpg) and DeNesha Stallworth (12.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg).
