Forward Ali dismissed from Kentucky

Sophomore forward Bra’Shey Ali will not be returning to the Kentucky women’s basketball team this season.
Ali, a 6-foot-2, little-used reserve was dismissed from the team, Susan Lax said on Friday.
The Plainfield, N.J., native, played in 11 games last season as a freshman, averaging two points and 2.1 rebounds in 7.5 minutes of play.
Ali sat out several games last season for various violations of team rules, including not dressing for seven. Throughout last season, Coach Matthew Mitchell said Ali had things she needed to work on off the court if she wanted to get on the court.
One instance included her being late to get back from the holiday break. Then once she got back to campus, she showed up late to her punishment the next morning.
“It’s irresponsibility,” Mitchell said at the time. “She’s not a bad kid at all. … It’s my job to try to give her an opportunity to grow into being a responsible young woman.”
