Kentucky’s Mathies invited to University Games trials

Kentucky guard A’dia Mathies is one of 35 players who have accepted an invitation to attend the 2011 USA Basketball Women’s World University Games Team Trials from May 22-25 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center (USOTC) in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Mathies, a 5-foot-10 All-Southeastern Conference guard, was UK’s second-leading scorer with 12.8 points per game and helped the Cats to their second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance.  She was named to the league’s All-Defensive team and was an All-SEC second-team selection for the second straight season.

Louisville’s Monique Reid also accepted an invitation as have SEC standouts Lasondra Barrett (LSU), Glory Johnson (Tennessee) and Shekinna Stricklen (Tennessee).
