UK commitment has big day

Indianapolis Ben Davis guard Bria Goss, who recently committed to Kentucky and Coach Matthew Mitchell, scored a game-high 21 points for the Hoosiers’ Junior All-Stars in their second straight win over the Senior All-Stars, who will face Kentucky Friday and Saturday. Goss scored 11 of her 21 points in the final three minutes of regulation and in overtime to lead the comeback. She also had five rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Goss, a contender for Indiana Miss Basketball next season, has won 58 straight games at Ben Davis, including two consecutive 4A state championships.

Two of Goss’s future UK teammates, Kentucky Miss Basketball Sarah Beth Barnette and Samantha Drake of Nelson County, will compete against the Indiana All-Stars this weekend. Check back later for a story on the duo and their All-Star experience.
